Oh, Hi! GHD Air Blow Dryer!

Let me just admit something really fast. It takes me about 90 minutes to get out of the house on a day where I am doing full (everyday) makeup and doing a full blowout....that's right....an hour and a half.  At least.

About 3 years ago I had purchased the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Blow Dryer, after reading tons of reviews, and there's a reason I've had it 3 years.  It works.  I can get a really great, glossy, pretty blowout with it, no problem.  The only thing is, if I start with right out of the shower hair, which is usually the case, it takes me a good 45 minutes or so to get it done.  This reeeeeally eats into my weekend mornings, not to mention that keeping heat on your hair for that long is not ideal.

I've been contemplating finding a new dryer for a while...but knowing that in about 9 weeks my personal prep time is going to get severely cut down for a while (helloooo....baby is due at the end of JULY! What ?!?!?) I decided it was time to bite the bullet and splurge.

I was between the Bio Ionic 10x Ultra Light Speed Dryer, the T3 PROi Professional , and the GHD Air.  I went with the GHD....and couldn't be happier!

WHY?
Because my blowout today literally took 15 minutes.  It almost dried TOO fast.  It didn't get super hot, there was no "steam" coming off my hair like with my Babyliss, and although some reviews mentioned that this dryer was a little heavy, it's literally nothing that I even noticed.
Oh...and I didn't even have to pull out the flat iron to tame or bend pieces...15 minutes and done.

I have had one bad experience with a GHD iron dying after about two weeks, so I am going to proceed with caution and see how this thing works as time goes on....but so far, BLOWN AWAY.

Beyond excited that I made this purchase.  DEFINITELY recommend!

Oh, Hi! Sugarcoat Vinings!

Oh, Hi! Sugarcoat Vinings!

I have something to admit....I'm a nail salon hopper.  I think I must have some "bigger better deal" complex or something...but I just can't help trying out different nail salons around the area.

I do of course have a FAVORITE place for when I'm feeling like going full set, long nails, super funky designs (The Haute Spot, of course!)  ...but sometimes, especially with this whole being knocked up thing, it's been a chore to keep that kind of thing maintained, even for me!

Realizing that in a few months I'll be needing to go shorter anyway (don't want to be scratching my sweet little kiddo up in the name of nail designs) I decided to try out a spot that I had been hearing a lot about and go for an OPI gel manicure.

Sugarcoat in Vinings is located in an adorable little shopping center called "Vinings Jubilee".  The center is reminiscent of a little resort town plaza...all white, super cute, and makes you want to pamper yourself, eat and shop for sure!

Sugarcoat is tucked into a corner, and is as light and bright as any of it's surroundings.  As soon as you enter, you know it's going to be a little bit of a different nail experience.
There are no rows of generic brown pedicure seats and long bars of manicure stations that look like they've been there since 1982.

The space is modern, girly, and gleaming clean.  White walls and ceilings are adorned with gorgeous bubble style chandeliers and your pedicure station makes you feel like a princess.

I didn't make an appointment, but was treated like a regular as soon as I walked in!  It was a Wednesday morning at about 10am, and there was only one other customer there, but by the time I left at 11 the place was filling up!

Linda was my manicurist, but I didn't catch the name of the awesome chickee that handled my pedicure.

Linda was precise, beyond speedy, and I ended up with the most perfectly shaped and polished gel manicure that I've ever received, and all in about 25 minutes!!!  It was clear this girl had been there, done that maybe a few times.

The pedicure was just as fantastic and she totally corrected some shaping issues from my last pedi.  I walked away with the smoothest skin I think I've ever left a nail salon with.

The enviroment was pretty, polished, and chill....music was just right, lighting was ideal...and the services were BEYOND on point. (PLUS I only spent $90 before tip....which is a bit better than what I'm used to!)

This spot definitely gets my stamp of approval, and I'm now inspired to try out their other location in Buckhead!

Here's the deets if you want to swing by yourself:

Oh, Hi! Kardashley Makeup Tutorials !

Oh, Hi! Kardashley Makeup Tutorials!

So...we kind of have a MAH-JOR girl crush on Ashley Iaconetti, and you should too.  Ashley was our favorite part of watching The Bachelor this season just to see what she would wear...what she would do with her makeup...and to cheer on a fellow brunette, Kardashian beauty obsessed, Forever 21 dabbling fabulous 20 something girl that OWNED her melodrama.
She has this super fun blog, Duchess Kimberly, and has started posting makeup tutorials....which we, are of course, LOVING. SO WE HAD to share them with you!!!  We are even so on board with the fact that she is not rocking a preset, perfectly lit, professionally video'd set-up.... #keepingitrealandstillsoOhHiMaintenance
She's gotten us totally hooked on using the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation as a concealer and now even as a great contour assistant...and we LOVE that she's a real girl just doing her thing.
Thanks Ashley I. ... a.k.a. Kardashley, for being YOU and never apologizing for it.  We just love you over here at Oh, Hi Maintenance!

The first two videos are tutorials...and the last three are super fun because she's showing the blogger from Possessionista trying to follow along.  #LOVE

Oh, Hi! FAVORITE NEW Shampoo!!!

Oh, Hi! - Favorite New Shampoo!

A.K.A - Product Review for "Living Proof" Product Line

A few weeks ago, we were at Lenox Square and I decided to run in to Sephora to grab some makeup remover wipes (hellooooo essential items!!!)....I just did not feel like stopping by CVS on the way home.

So, we go in....well...I go in...while the fiancĂ© waits patiently outside for me.  Knowing that he was waiting, I was so so serious about sticking to my mission, grabbing my wipies, and going.

BUT then....fate took over.  This super fab Sephora employee noticed me stopping in front of the Bumble and Bumble shelves (duh! I realized I was out of my Thickening Shampoo) and asked if I needed help.  And you know what...I did.

I never ever ever can get my roots to lift.  Every product I use seems to just weigh my hair down within an hour of application...and I had just kind of accepted that I would eventually have to break down and order some Bellami hair extensions if I wanted real volume on the wedding day.

Well, after I poured my flat-hair-plagued heart out to this poor guy....he changed my life.

He grabbed some pomade looking stuff in a jar, I rolled my eyes thinking great...sticky and flat hair....perfection....he rubbed this gooey stuff between his hands...flipped my hair over in front of my face, gave my scalp a little scrub...and when I flipped my hair back over (I'd like to think I probably looked like Ariel in the Little Mermaid) HELLO VOLUME.

He handed me like ten samples of their different shampoos and conditioners, and although I really can't complain about any of the systems....the FULL line was what I stuck to.

At just $24 for 8 oz., the shampoo is super concentrated, and I'm going on my third week on the first bottle...which is AMAZING for me.  I can run through a full size Herbal Essence bottle in a week and a half.

It's sulfate free, and not only is my hair THICK and full of volume,  it feels so much stronger and healthier.

I use it in conjunction with the FULL conditioner, and depending on the style I'm doing, I've been loving the styling products too.

My new daily regimen using the Living Proof "FULL" line is:
  1. Shampoo with a dime size amount of the Living Proof Full Shampoo
  2. Condition hair from root (yes, that's right, ,ALL OVER and doesn't weigh it down)to tip with Living Proof Full Conditioner
  3. Spritz roots of damp, towel dried hair with Living Proof Full Root Lifting Spray
  4. Spritz damp hair all over with Living Proof No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray
  5. Blow dry and style with my Ultra Chi Flat Iron or Babyliss 1 3/4 inch Curling Iron
  6. If I want an extra lift, I will use just a teeny tiny bit (like a 1/4 of a dime sized amount) of the Living Proof AMP Instant Texture Volumizer. I just massage it a little above my roots underneath my hair around the back and top of my scalp, and then play with it until I get the volume I am wanting. This stuff REALLY works and while it does feel a little sticky, it's totally invisible when looking and just gives this extra pump of volume that I love!
  7. If it's a humid or damp day, I will set my look with the always perfect Elnett hairspray.

SO...YAY!  I finally have found a hair system that does what it promises and is totally affordable!  Thanks Jen Aniston and team for this fabulous line that really delivers!
